Why We Picked It
For anyone with unsteady hands or less-than-perfect eyesight, placing a needle on a record can be the hardest part. The Audio-Technica AT-LP60X is fully automatic: press a button and it lowers the tone arm, plays the side and returns the arm when it is done. It plays 33 1/3 and 45 rpm records and has a built-in switchable preamp, so it connects to powered speakers or a home stereo. Note that it does not have its own speakers.
Good to Know
- Fully automatic belt-drive operation
- Two speeds: 33 1/3 and 45 rpm

Who It's For
- Anyone who finds cueing a record by hand difficult
- People who already own powered speakers or a stereo
